The farm is greener and greener with all this rain. We haven't been able to get into the garden much at all. What the rain doesn't wash out, the weeds are going to take, if we can't get in there soon. The peas are doing great, they like the cooler, rainy weather. If I need to replant I will. I want to put up as much of our own food as I can.
Lastnight I went out and picked cherries. I love cherry jelly and it looks so pretty on the pantry shelf. I want my pantry to be filled to the brim ,with extra to give to friends in need.
The chickens should start laying by the end of this month. I have two layers from lastyear. I have no idea what happened to the other 5, They were gone one by one, not even a feather was laying around the coop? No blood or anything. So I hope these do better. That will help on our food bill and also I know how they were raised.
Rubarb, got put into the freezer last week and strawberries are coming on pretty good. I love strawberry/rubarb pie. yum yum. How's your garden doing? Does anyone make anything good out of rubarb? Always looking for new things to try. Have a great night. Sherry
